We compared CreatorIQ, Aspire, Upfluence, Modash and Shopify Collabs on pricing, discovery, campaign management and sales tracking, and show which fits your team.

SaaSProven guide cover image: Best Influencer Marketing Platforms for Ecommerce Brands and Agencies

Picture a marketing team that spends Monday finding creators in a spreadsheet, Tuesday checking whether their followers are real, and Friday trying to work out which sales came from which post. Influencer marketing software exists to fix that, but the products solve very different problems. Some find creators, some run the campaign, and some mostly track sales.

This guide compares five platforms: CreatorIQ, Aspire, Upfluence, Modash and Shopify Collabs. Our view is simple: the best platform is the one that fixes your most expensive operational problem without adding cost or complexity you don’t need.

Quick answer: which platform is best?

For small teams that mainly need to find and vet creators, Modash is the only one here with public pricing, starting at $199 a month billed annually. For ecommerce brands running gifting and affiliate programs, Aspire and Upfluence are the closest fits. For global enterprises that need governance and brand safety, CreatorIQ is built for that. Shopify merchants who want to test creator affiliates should look at Shopify Collabs first. These are editorial judgments based on vendor documentation.

Best influencer marketing platforms

1. CreatorIQ: best for enterprise programs

Verdict: Built for large organizations that care about governance, measurement and brand safety more than a low price.

CreatorIQ describes itself as an operating system for creator-led growth. Its core platform covers discovery, evaluation, creator management, campaign execution and measurement, with add-ons including Recruit, Convert and Pay, plus SafeIQ for brand safety and BenchmarkIQ for competitor benchmarking. It lists integrations with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Snapchat, as well as Shopify, Amazon, and affiliate networks such as CJ, Awin, Impact and Rakuten Advertising. It also connects with DocuSign and Google Analytics. It says it serves more than 1,300 brands and agencies, which is the vendor’s own claim. Pricing isn’t published, and you request it from the vendor.

  • Strengths: Enterprise governance, brand safety tooling, a wide integration list.
  • Trade-offs: No public pricing, and likely more than a small team needs.
  • Choose it if: You run programs across markets and need approvals and consolidated reporting. Skip it if: You’re launching your first campaign.

2. Aspire: best for ecommerce gifting and affiliates

Verdict: A strong match for Shopify brands that want product seeding, promo codes and creator storefronts in one workflow.

Aspire is organized into four modules: Discover and Nurture, Manage and Scale, Affiliate and Ad, and Measure and Refine. It offers AI creator discovery, a marketplace where creators can apply, briefs and agreements, content approval, payments, affiliate links and promo codes with flat, percentage or tiered commissions, and a CreatorAds suite for turning creator posts into paid ads. Its Shopify app can identify existing customers who are creators, ship products from Aspire, build shoppable creator pages and track clicks to checkout. It also sells managed services if you don’t want to run the program in-house. Pricing isn’t on the site; you book a demo. The sales figures on its site are the vendor’s claims.

  • Strengths: Ecommerce focus, fulfillment, affiliate options, optional managed service.
  • Trade-offs: No public pricing, and it’s ecommerce-centered, so B2B teams may find less to use.
  • Choose it if: You sell products online and want a long-term ambassador program. Skip it if: You only need a search tool.

3. Upfluence: best for flexible ecommerce programs

Verdict: A modular option where you pay for the depth of workflow you need.

Upfluence sells three tiers. Find Creators covers search across major social platforms, lookalike discovery, outreach and AI email help. Scale Creator Programs adds e-commerce integrations (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Amazon), affiliate tracking and discounts, product shipments, a CRM and social listening. Run Programs on Autopilot adds Upfluence Pay, which covers global payouts and automatic 1099 and W-9 generation. It claims a database of more than 14 million creators on all plans, which is a vendor claim we couldn’t verify. Pricing is custom, with no mandatory setup fee, optional paid onboarding and a 12-month minimum on annual plans. Every client gets a dedicated account manager.

  • Strengths: Clear tier structure, payments with tax forms, wide ecommerce integrations.
  • Trade-offs: Quote-based, and the trial is arranged after a sales call.
  • Choose it if: You want to start with discovery and add affiliate and payments later. Skip it if: You need a published price to budget against.

4. Modash: best for small teams and creator discovery

Verdict: The most transparent pricing of the group and a sensible first purchase.

Modash publishes three plans. Essentials is $299 a month, or $199 a month on annual billing ($2,388 a year), with 2 team members, 300 opened profiles a month, 150 unlocked emails or exports and tracking for up to 100 creators. Performance is $599 a month, or $499 a month on annual billing ($5,988 a year), with 5 team members, 800 opened profiles and 400 unlocked emails. Performance adds payments and affiliate management with a 0 percent fee up to $10,000 a year. Enterprise starts from $14,700 a year. A 14-day trial needs no credit card and is limited to 20 profile views, 6 email unlocks and 10 tracked creators. Modash also sells data through a Discovery API and other API products, and the API prices aren’t listed.

  • Strengths: Public pricing, a no-card trial, discovery and audience data, an API.
  • Trade-offs: Monthly limits on profiles and emails can bind busy teams.
  • Choose it if: You’re a small brand or agency that needs to find and vet creators. Skip it if: You need deep ecommerce fulfillment.

5. Shopify Collabs: best free-to-start option for Shopify stores

Verdict: Worth checking first if you’re on Shopify, but we couldn’t verify its costs.

Shopify presents Collabs as an affiliate app that connects creators and brands on Shopify, with creator pages for the US, Canada and the UK. The pages we checked didn’t state fees, eligibility rules or features in detail, so confirm what it costs and which features you get in the Shopify App Store or Help Center before you plan around it. We include it because it’s the lightest way for a Shopify merchant to try creator affiliates.

  • Strengths: Native to Shopify, low setup overhead.
  • Trade-offs: Not a full campaign management platform, and details weren’t verifiable.
  • Choose it if: You’re a small Shopify brand testing affiliates. Skip it if: You’re off Shopify or need enterprise controls.

Explore Shopify Collabs

Which platform should you choose?

  • Startup with its first campaign: Start with a spreadsheet or Modash’s trial. The trade-off is more manual work.
  • Small Shopify store needing measurable sales: Shopify Collabs or Aspire. The trade-off is that Aspire needs a sales conversation.
  • Brand building an ambassador program: Aspire or Upfluence. The trade-off is a quote and likely a contract.
  • Agency with multiple clients: Modash or CreatorIQ, depending on size.
  • Large enterprise: CreatorIQ. The trade-off is cost and complexity.
  • Team that already has creators: Look at the workflow modules in Aspire or Upfluence rather than a discovery-only tool.

Platform, marketplace or agency?

Software helps your team run campaigns and gives you the most control, but you need people to operate it. A marketplace connects you with creators who opt in, which is faster but narrower. An agency does the strategy and execution for a fee. Some vendors blend these: Aspire, for instance, sells both software and managed services. Choose software when you have staff time, an agency when you don’t.

What does influencer marketing software cost?

Of the five, only Modash publishes plans, from $199 a month billed annually to $14,700 a year for Enterprise. The others quote by package. Subscription is only part of the cost: add creator fees, product gifting, commissions, paid amplification, onboarding and team time. A low software price with a heavy manual workflow can cost more than a pricier tool that saves hours.

Questions to ask before you sign

  • Are searches, profile views, exports or outreach messages capped?
  • Do extra team seats cost more?
  • Is there a minimum contract term, and what happens when it ends?
  • Can you export creator and campaign data?
  • Are integrations, onboarding and payments included in the quote?
  • Are there fees on payments or affiliate payouts?
  • Does it cover the networks and countries you need?
  • What happens if you exceed your plan limits?

How to score platforms yourself

Rate each shortlisted tool from 1 to 5 on discovery quality, audience authenticity, workflow, ecommerce and affiliate tracking, reporting, integrations and data export, ease of adoption and total cost. Then weight the criteria by your goal. The scores below are purely hypothetical, to show the method.

Criterion (weight) Tool A Tool B
Sales tracking (40%) 3 5
Discovery (30%) 5 3
Cost (30%) 4 2
Weighted score 3.9 3.5

A team that cares most about sales tracking would raise that weight, and the result could flip.

How to calculate influencer campaign ROI

Revenue alone is misleading. Use contribution margin instead. In this hypothetical example, a brand spends $5,000 on creator fees, product and software, and tracks $12,000 in attributed sales. If the margin after product and shipping costs is 40 percent, gross profit is $4,800, which is less than the $5,000 spent. The campaign looks like a 2.4x revenue return but actually loses $200. Cost per acquisition and customer lifetime value matter too, since a repeat buyer changes the picture.

Tracking has limits. Discount codes leak to coupon sites, view-through conversions are hard to attribute, and tracked sales aren’t the same as incremental sales that wouldn’t have happened anyway. No platform measures every conversion.

Launch checklist

  1. Set one business objective and a budget.
  2. Define creator criteria: niche, audience location, size.
  3. Shortlist two or three platforms.
  4. Run a demo or trial using a real campaign.
  5. Check integrations and data export.
  6. Agree contracts, disclosures and content usage rights.
  7. Review results before expanding.

Compliance and brand safety

US brands need to make sure creators disclose paid relationships. The FTC’s guidance, Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers, says to disclose any financial or personal connection, including free products, to place the disclosure with the endorsement and not hide it in a bio or behind a “more” link, and to use plain terms such as “ad” or “sponsored.” Also check for suspicious engagement, usage rights, music licensing and data access. This isn’t legal advice; talk to a qualified attorney for contracts and compliance.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best influencer marketing platform?

It depends on your goal. CreatorIQ suits enterprises, Aspire and Upfluence suit ecommerce brands, and Modash suits small teams.

Which platform is best for small businesses?

Modash, since it publishes plans from $199 a month on annual billing and offers a 14-day trial. Shopify stores can also try Shopify Collabs.

Is there a free influencer marketing platform?

Modash offers a limited 14-day trial. We couldn’t confirm Shopify Collabs pricing, so check Shopify directly.

Which platforms work with Shopify?

Aspire has a Shopify app, Upfluence integrates with Shopify, CreatorIQ lists Shopify as an integration, and Shopify Collabs is built for Shopify.

Can these platforms track sales?

Several support affiliate links, promo codes or ecommerce integrations, but attribution is never perfect.

What’s the difference between software and a marketplace?

Software runs your campaigns. A marketplace connects you with creators who opt in to be found.

How much does influencer marketing software cost?

Public examples start at $199 a month on annual billing. Enterprise tools are quote-based.

Do small businesses need dedicated software?

Not always. A spreadsheet and a few creators can work until volume makes manual tracking costly.

How can I spot fake followers?

Look at engagement quality, audience location and sudden follower jumps. Several platforms here offer audience analytics, but treat any score as a hint.

Final recommendation

There’s no universal winner. Choose Modash if you need creator discovery on a published budget, Aspire or Upfluence if you run an ecommerce program, CreatorIQ if you’re an enterprise with governance needs, and Shopify Collabs for a light Shopify test. Shortlist two, run a real campaign in each trial or demo, and check how easily you can export your data before you commit.
